Avantis Group has successfully delivered a high-specification piping fabrication and material supply project for a major offshore rig at the Kishorn shipyard in Scotland, further demonstrating our capability to execute complex, time-critical projects for the global energy sector.

Working under a compressed schedule, the Avantis team mobilised rapidly to support critical offshore operations, providing a turnkey solution that integrated specialist fabrication, stringent quality control, and end-to-end logistics.

Project Scope and Highlights:

• Advanced Welding Procedures: Utilising DNV-approved procedures in compliance with ASTM A519 AISI 4130 material requirements.
• Heat Treatment Expertise: Both pre- and post-weld heat treatment were carried out to ensure structural integrity and long-term performance.
• Material Supply: Supplied 5” and 6” seamless pipe (30mm wall thickness, Grade 4130), meeting stringent offshore specifications.
• Precision Machining: API 6A flanges and fittings were manufactured with Inconel 625-lined ring grooves for enhanced corrosion resistance.
• Spool Fabrication: Prefabrication of well test, choke, and kill spools, ensuring dimensional accuracy and readiness for site integration.
• Non-Destructive Testing: Comprehensive NDT was conducted — including 100% visual inspection, magnetic particle inspection (MPI), radiographic testing (RT), and dimensional verification.
• Surface Preparation and Coating: Components were prepared to SA 2.5 standard and coated with a protective primer for offshore durability.
• Client Oversight: The final inspection was successfully conducted at our South Wales fabrication facility.
• Secure Delivery: All equipment was packaged and securely transported via road freight to the Kishorn site.
