Job Summary:
Avantis Marine Group is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Business Development Manager to lead our expansion efforts in cruise ship maintenance, repair, and clean technologies in the Miami region. The ideal candidate will have a profound background in marine services tailored to the cruise industry and a strong connection to the cruise market in Miami. A commitment to sustainable growth and advanced knowledge in SCR installations and other green technologies is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis and Strategy Development:
- Perform targeted market analysis to identify integration opportunities for green technology in cruise ship services.
- Formulate strategic plans to solidify our presence and establish the company as a pioneer in sustainable cruise ship maintenance and repair solutions.
- Business Development:
- Drive initiatives to pinpoint and seize new business opportunities in cruise ship repair, maintenance, and clean technologies.
- Build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders in the maritime industry, including cruise operators, ship owners, and regulatory bodies.
- Explore new markets for cruise ship repairs, focusing particularly on the growing demands in the Miami area.
- Proposal Development and Contract Negotiation:
- Collaborate with technical teams to craft innovative and eco-friendly solutions for cruise ship repair projects.
- Manage proposal presentations, bid submissions, and contract negotiations to secure advantageous terms.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting:
- Develop and maintain sales forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics.
- Provide comprehensive reports on sales activities, market developments, and competitive positioning.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Maintain high satisfaction levels among existing clients, ensuring ongoing business and referrals.
- Utilize industry connections and personal rapport to enhance client relationships and business opportunities.
- Thought Leadership and Industry Engagement:
- Act as a company spokesperson at industry events, emphasizing our expertise in clean technologies and marine maintenance.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in green technologies, sharing knowledge across teams and with clients.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in business development or sales within the maritime industry, specifically with cruise ships.
- Demonstrated success in developing business in the maritime sector, particularly in sustainable technologies and practices.
- Comprehensive understanding of marine engineering, cruise ship operations, and environmental technologies.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to spearhead strategic projects.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
