Control And Automation Systems

Design, Installation & Maintenance

Our skilled electrical engineering team has accumulated years of experience designing, installing and maintaining a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment supporting the Marine and Industrial Sectors worldwide.

Personnel can be mobilised and are able to investigate and repair simple power failure faults to the more complex PLC, Switchboard and Alarm systems faults.

  • Main switchboard and distribution boards
  • Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) motor controls
  • Control system panels, marshalling boxes
  • Cable management systems
  • Electric Cables (Power, Communications, Control & Instrumentation) and associated termination works
  • Cable integrity testing and inspection
  • Testing and commissioning

Smart Energy Efficient Control & Automation Systems

Avantis provide smart, energy efficient control systems that with condition monitoring provide intelligent preventative maintenance warnings, and highlight drifts in process variable trends which would often indicate a system is not running in an as commissioned state, so that corrective action can be taken, which helps keeps opex on track, or presents an opportunity to introduce further upgrades to save energy and money.

The offerings can be as part of a complete system update, or a bolt-on solution to provide increased efficiency, greener operation and improved up time.

We conduct obsolescence surveys to help our clients keep their assets running, provide scheduled maintenance to the system and instrumentation and can assist in the event of a failure.

Control And Automation Systems

What are Control & Automation Systems?

All industrial equipment requires controlling to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient process control.

A well designed, specified and built control system should deliver on this and provide years of service, however Control systems can be overlooked when considering the maintenance of a plant, and typically in shorter timeframes than other plant equipment the components can become obsolete, meaning one failure could result in total shutdown of a plant, and where there is no direct replacement or back up of the software or logic, this can result in serious financial implications.

The relentless march of technology provides us with the ability to achieve tighter control tolerances, higher reliability and improved acquisition of data which can bring tangible improvements to plant operation through higher uptime of the equipment, and cost reductions in running the plant through increased efficiency.
